Does anyone still check this lonely site?? I apologize profusely for my absence--blogging just wasn't in my schedule for the past month or so. There was so much going on, from a new hedgehog to take care of to my sister getting married in the most fantastic weekend imaginable. Throw in a 1 year old 50 pound Siberian husky that my boyfriend adopted (and therefore now a major part of my life) and the start of summertime programing at the Museum...I'll spend a moment now to update on all of the excitement of the past month.
Chip is doing wonderfully and adjusting to his new life with me quite well. He has grown to more than 5 times the size of the pictures posted in previous blogs (don't worry, I'll get some recent pictures put on here soon). A good day for him is sleeping, running, sleeping, pooping, cuddling, eating, and sleeping. Most of my evenings after work involve cuddling with Chip--he snuggles into my sweatshirt for a nap, and I wind up falling asleep as well.
The new animal in my life is Dave's new puppy Cisco. He is a beautiful white and red husky with one green eye and one blue eye. Cisco really is a gorgeous, sweet, mellow dog but he does have one minor problem: separation anxiety. He needs to be around people, and preferrably around Dave. It has been a big adjustment to make sure that the puppy is not left alone, and that is also pretty tricky when the dogsitter (me) has a hedgehog (Chip). That relationship is really improving and looks promising.
The wedding. My sister is now Katie Higgins Galvin, Mrs. David Galvin, or just plain and simply MRS. GALVIN. Ahhh!! That's about it for what I can discuss, partly because I'm still reeling from the event. No words can explain it properly--I'll get some pictures up soon for this as well.
Jamestown Settlement is still going very well, although I am more frequently reminding myself that my last day working on the Ships is August 9. My favorite part of working at the Museum is being with the kids and helping them understand what exactly happened 400 years ago and how that can relate to them today. Watching those lightbulbs go on, or better yet listening to them make the connections and explaining their logic to me is just a great feeling. Observing obnoxious tourists chomping on gum, complaining about the heat, and making ignorant comments about their surroundings is NOT a great feeling. Unfortunately with summertime upon us and school out of session, the obnoxious tourists are the more frequent occurence. Some days I just take deep breaths and remind myself that my "real" job is working with the kids all the time.
I hope this served as a quick update, and I promise it won't be long before another blog gets posted. I'm falling back into my routine, and with the exception of a big move to a new townhouse in the next week or so, I should be returning to my regular blogs. Stay tuned!

Hey Sara! Glad to hear your hedgehog is doing well. I never really thought people had those things as pets, but I guess they do. Post some new pictures of him, I wanna see this thing.
Hey there, Long time no speake from my end of the world. Hope everything is continuing to go well. I am jealous and happy for you to have such a great learning and sharing summer. Nice Hedgehog. Hope that continues to go well. With the adult quils the Husky will learn to get along. :) Give me a buzz sometime. Glad the wedding went well.
